Kahuna arm massage at NV Massage

What is Ka Huna Massage?

Ka Huna massage, known as Lomilomi bodywork, originated in Hawaii and extends well beyond tradition relaxation massage. This holistic approach to treatment focuses on the body-mind connection to explore and resolve tensions – be they physical, emotional or spiritual.

During your Lomilomi bodywork session, your therapist uses more oil than other massage modalities, allowing them to make sweeping, flowing movements all over your body using their hands, forearms and elbows. You will feel a deep sense of relaxation and leave feeling energised.

Client testimonial:

Wow, this was an incredible experience. I wasn’t sure what to expect but Ian talked me through the kahuna bodywork style and made me feel completely at ease. I was surprised at how rhythmic and soothing the massage strokes were. The session helped me de-stress physically but also mentally, and I left feeling calm and inspired. A week later, I was still thinking about it! Natalie S

What should I expect during my treatment?

Before you start the treatment, your therapist will ask you a few questions about your physical and mental health to determine the focus for your session.

Ka Huna bodywork takes place on a massage table and your therapist will provide draping (in the form of a large sarong) to suit each individual’s wishes.

Your session will include peaceful music to guide the flow and your therapist may speak healing words or sounds during the treatment.

The treatment uses a mix of soft and deep tissue massage, tailored to your specific needs.
